Once (Svec)
“ONCE tells the enchanting tale of a Dublin street musician who's about to give up on his dream when a beautiful young woman takes a sudden interest in his haunting love songs. As the chemistry between them grows, his music soars to powerful new heights... but their unlikely connection turns out to be deeper and more complex than your everyday romance.” - The Guide to Musical Theatre
The character of Svec is a supporting character to the leading duo of this production. He is flatmates with Girl, Andrej, and Reza; he is not the brightest, but his heart is in the right place. The role required lots of Eastern European accent work and it plays heavily on absurdist, slapstick, and surreal humor whilst requiring tact at avoiding offensive stereotypes due to his Eastern European ancestry.

Svec "bravely" defends his brother with his trusty drum sticks.

Svec and his brother, Andrej, show their Irish band mates their "heavy metal" warmup.

Svec, dramatically, rips off his pants so he can muffle Billy's drums.

Svec congratulates his flat mate, Girl, expressing how proud he is of her work.

Svec worryingly watches his brother express some deep deprerssion about his lack of promotion at his job, a local fast food chain.

Svec, surprisingly, is insulted when the banker says that he is not Irish, but Czech (which he is).
